New Zealand Sponsorship Awards History

The New Zealand Sports Sponsorship Awards were created by Chris Simpson in 1999 to honour and reward outstanding partnerships in the sport sponsorship arena.  The first event was hugely successful with many companies coming forward to enter their sponsorship campaigns into the Awards.

In 2005 the first major change in the Award's direction occurred to include arts and cause related sponsorship properties as well as the original sports sponsorship categories.  The changes in 2005 were hugely successful with a variety of arts and cause properties being entered. This creation of the first nationwide Awards function to cover all brands and properties involved within the sponsorship industry was a natural progression from the original Sports Sponsorship Awards function.

The New Zealand Herald 2008 Sponsorship Awards is poised to be the best ever.  The New Zealand Sponsorship Industry is looking forward to celebrating ten years since the inception of the first awards in 1999.
